Although still two years away, some republicans are already preparing and making announcements of plans to run in the 2012 election. Some politicians that are considering running for the presidential position include Mitt Romney, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee....

Huckabee's campaign was actually notable for continuing to run against McCain even after it was Mathematically impossible for him to win the nomination... the reason he gave was that he though republican's should still be offered a choice on the ballet, but most people assume that he just wanted to stay in to promote himself and possibly get more votes than Romney.
